Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is renowned for her roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards like an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Actresses have an extensive career of involvement in Broadway, Off-Broadway and other initiatives. From the time she was a child she's always been enthusiastic about performing. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. She was born deaf in the one ear following a bout of the mumps virus, however she did not allow this handicap to hinder her determination to become an actor. In her early years, she studied drama in the college level and then moved to New York City from Pittsburgh to pursue her ambitions. Hunter was trapped in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. After that, she made the move into Los Angeles and tried to find film roles. In Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. In the three decades since she was a part of the film, Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous television movies and series. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
